COVID19 – Updated Completion Inspection Protocol

August 4, 2020

CNC Building Control remains open and has been undertaking our statutory function during the Coronavirus Pandemic.

In line with Government recommendations and the easing of “Lockdown” we are now able to undertake completion inspections on occupied properties.  At the time of booking homeowners will be asked to confirm that there is no one on site who is self-isolating due to COVID 19 symptoms or is shielding or in a vulnerable group.

Due to the volume of work and required covid secure measures please allow up to 15 working days for us to carry out your completion inspection.

Whilst undertaking inspections we will always observe social distancing.  When a surveyor is required to enter an occupied property (to both ensure the safety of the occupant(s) and the surveyor) all occupants will be asked to vacate the premises.  We will also ask that all windows are opened to improve ventilation and all doors be left open during the inspection to allow access without touching door handles.

Please note, however,  that our offices in both Long Stratton and Wisbech remain, in line with Government recommendations, unstaffed and so we are therefore unable to accept ‘drop in calls’.    If you would like to speak to a Building Control Surveyor or member of staff please continue to contact us via email at enquiries@cncbuildingcontrol.gov.uk where we offer a call back / email back service.  We are also happy to offer a virtual meeting via Skype or Zoom if this is more convenient.
