3 of the Best

CNC Building Control is going from strength to strength and has recently appointed three new employees in both Surveying and Management roles.

Max McCarthy joins as Team Leader at the Wisbech / Kings Lynn office.  He brings with him a wealth of commercial construction experience gained over the last two decades on a variety of both commercial and domestic building projects.  His most recent position was as a Building  Control Surveyor for  Cambridgeshire Local Authority Building Control Body and before that he worked for the largest social housing provider in the UK.

Max told us “We are at a pivotal point of change within the construction industry.  I believe this change is likely to shift the focus of responsibility back to the design side of the construction processes.  At the moment there is a heavy reliance on building control bodies to catch errors in the build process both during and after completion.”

He went on to say “I would like to develop an operating model which, while being commercially focused, is more integrated within project development and allows our customers to take advantage of the huge range of experience and skill within our Building Surveyor Teams. This knowledge base is one of our strengths and I hope that we will be able to further utilize this by providing added value services in the near future”.

Matt Weatherill recently joined the Long Stratton office as a Building Control Surveyor.  He has over 15 years experience in the Building Control industry having worked for a number of Approved Inspectors and Local Authorities.  Matthew has a keen interest and expertise in the energy performance of buildings having initially worked as an energy assessor.  He brings this skill into play with his love of historical residential conversions and one off new builds.

Matthew will be primarily responsible for projects to the north of the city around the Aylsham and Horsford areas and will be taking responsibility for overseeing the work of two of our National Housebuilders,  Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey.

Finally, Joan Hocking re-joins the CNC Building Control team as Assistant Service Manager & Business Development (based in South Norfolk) after a long-term secondment to Build Insight.

Joan has 13 years of experience of working within the building regulations and consultancy sector of the construction industry.  She will be supporting Stephen Fulcher, Service Manager, focusing on commercial development by both developing existing and new income streams; and also internally by making sure the service makes the most efficient and effective use of resources.

Joan is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and goes the extra mile to ensure long term customer relationships are maintained.

If you want to find out more about joining the team either at our Wisbech or Long Stratton office call Joan Hocking on 01508 535304 or email her at joanhocking@cncbuildingcontrol.gov.uk
