Partnering: the way forward

LABC has more than 1600 successful national partnerships with design and construction professionals.

What is the LABC Partner Authority Scheme and how can you benefit?

The scheme enables companies or advisers to 'partner' with a preferred Local Authority.

This provides a single point of contact to ensure all projects are regulatory compliant.

CNC Building Control Consultancy has, at present, 46 partner companies all of whom benefit from this single point of contact, which can guarantee certainty and consistency across all aspects of design including pre-application advice, plans examination and all the necessary consultations, including the Fire Service.  For companies that design and build nationally, partnering can simplify and speed up the approval process.

The purpose of the LABC Partner Authority Scheme is to give a Partner Company a one to one relationship with a Partner Authority (ie CNC) for the plan approval aspect of all construction projects irrespective of location.  The Partner Authority (ie CNC) will act as an effective conduit with the local authority where the project is to be built (known as the Inspecting Authority) on behalf of the Partner Company.  The Partner Authority will assess the plans for a project and issue a decision advice notice to the inspecting authority , which will lead to automatic Building Regulations approval by the Inspecting Authority.  This close working relationship will allow us to simplify and streamline the consultation process; removing any delays, which may otherwise impeded the progress of your application.

Once the plans have been approved by us, the Inspecting Authority undertakes the on-site inspections.  However there still remains a close link between all three parties to ensure that the project is delivered on time.

There is no additional charge for this service.
